History
VMUNC was instated in the late 2010s as Vista del Lago High School's student-run Model United Nations conference. From the beginning, it was built as a local space where newer delegates could practice debate, teamwork, research, and resolution writing before moving into larger conferences.
VMUNC's inception eight years ago started as an outlet for novice delegates to build their debate, collaboration, and solution-writing skills. The first VMUNC, under Secretary-General Ethan Bray, offered two unique committees: DISEC, with Cyber Warfare, and the joint crisis British-Pirates committee.
Though it has progressed long past the inaugural conference, VMUNC still centers serious preparation, respectful debate, and a conference environment that works for both new and experienced delegates.
